A vintage paper collar, in perfect condition.
Made by Southlands, style number 18.
Paper collars were popular in the early Victorian era, and enjoyed intermittent popularity in later times.
They could be worn several times, wiped clean (the outer surface is treated to give it a a slight gloss and a linen-look texture, rather like the surface of a "washable" wallpaper.
After several days' use, they were thrown out.
They are rare nowadays, except for use in the legal profession.
These collars are old - I believe they were made in the early 20th century.
These are detachable (separate) collars, suitable for tunic shirts.
You will need a pair of collar studs. These are NOT included with the item, but are available separately.
Collar size 16"
Depth of collar 3 inches at widest point
Unused, and in perfect condition.
