A traditional English gentleman's stud box, suitable for carrying cufflinks, studs, tie pins etc.
With the traditional, slightly risque motto "A STUD IN THE BOX IS WORTH TWO UNDER THE BED".
The stud (and the act of groping underneath a bed) are illustrated on the lid, as shown.
The inside of the lid is marked:
MADE IN ENGLAND
This is an old item, which I would guess is probably from the 1950s, but I am not sure about this.
Note: I have included some old studs and cufflinks in the photograph, just to show how roomy the box is.
These are NOT included with the item.
Very good condition, and completely fit to be used.
The inside is in near-perfect condition.
The outside is a little scuffed, particularly the base, as shown.
Please see the photographs.
