This is a genuine vintage shirt, around half a century old.
It has just been laundered, so it is clean, but unfortunately it is no longer smart.
The terylene-and-cotton easy care material, which was experimental in the 1960s when the shirt was made, has not withstood the rigours of the decades.
This means that the shirt is definitely NOT smart enough to wear for formal use, or to the office.
But it might be suitable for casual wear, if you like vintage clothes, or perhaps as a stage or fancy dress costume.
The neckband of the collar has puckered a little - perhaps a past owner ignored the printed warning and attempted to starch it?
There are faint but definite stains around the armpits.
