Pair of brushes hallmarked Sterling silver Leather case SJ Rose London 1940s DMT

Pair of brushes hallmarked Sterling silver Leather case SJ Rose London 1940s DMT

A pair of vintage English brushes, made by S J Rose & Son, just after the Second World War.
Sterling silver backs, with the monogrammed initials DMT.
The maker's mark is SJR (for S J Rose & Son of Birmingham).
The hallmarks show the silver was assayed in London in 1946.
There is also a stamp on the wood, between the bristles.
This is partially obliterated, but I think it says PURE BRISTLE MADE IN ENGLAND.
The leather case is in very nice condition.
It is marked REAL HIDE BRITISH MAKE
It fastens with a metal clasp.

Condition:

Good condition.
No dents, cracks or other damage.
The silver backs could do with a polish.
Bristles and wood in good condition.
Leather case is intact, but a little scuffed.
The metal clasp works well.
