An attractive and useful leather travel wallet for men's or ladies' collars.
As you can see, this is a flat "purse" case rather than the more familiar drum-shaped collar box (used for starched collars).
It is suitable for holding soft or semi-stiff collars, but NOT starched collars.
11 inches x 4" approx
The front is embossed with the words:
I would think this item probably dates from the 1920s or thereabouts.
It has clearly been used over the years, but it has been well treated, and is perfectly fit for use.
The case folds shut, and fastens with an old-fashioned press stud.
Note: I have included one picture of the case with a collar inside, just to give an idea of the size.
The collar is NOT included with the item.
Very good condition.
The leather is still supple and soft.
Good, serviceable condition, with the stitching intact.
The embossed lettering is lovely and clear, though the capital S is a little worn.
The stud fastens securely.
However, the collar wallet has obviously been used over the decades of its long life, and the outer corners are scuffed, as shown.
Please see the photographs to get a good idea of the condition of this item.
