These garments were made 70 years ago, to wartime economy standards, and they were designed to be hard-wearing and cheap rather than comfortable or beautiful.
They are suitable for girls or boys.
This garment is unworn, and in fairly good condition, but shop soiled.
It is unsold shop stock from the 1940s.
It has been properly stored, in their original wartime brown paper bundle.
It is in good general condition, but has noticeaby discoloured where it has been touching the brown paper wrapping (on the central part of the front, as you can see from the photographs).
I do not know whether these marks will fade in the wash - I suspect not, as they are over half a century old.
In view of its age, if you are thinking of wearing the vest, it should be hand-washed before use, and treated gently.
