CC41 childs sleeveless vest 32" chest Vintage 1940s UNUSED shop soiled underwear

One vintage 1940s vest, unused but shop soiled.
This is genuine wartime "utility" clothing, made during the time of clothes rationing in Britain (1941-1949).
Sleeveless
The colour is a creamy off-white.
The vest has the official CC41 Utility mark.
During the Second World War, there were restrictions on garment design, to reduce waste, and to make sure that resources could be concentrated on providing necessary supplies for the troops, together with a basic standard of clothing for civilians. The CC41 mark showed that these vests met the wartime economy standards.
Rationing was also in force - people wanting to buy them, would have had to use their clothing ration coupons (as well as paying for the garments).
This was to ensure that everyone had an equal chance of buying necessary clothes, and to prevent hoarding and profiteering.
The other markings say:
L41 32 OH
As you can see, this vest has never been worn.
It is unsold shop stock from the 1940s, and has been in storage at the shop ever since.
Size
Actual unstretched chest size 31", to fit chest 32"
Length (shoulder to hem) 27"
These garments were made 70 years ago, to wartime economy standards, and they were designed to be hard-wearing and cheap rather than comfortable or beautiful.
They are suitable for girls or boys.
Condition
This garment is unworn, and in fairly good condition, but shop soiled.
It is unsold shop stock from the 1940s.
It has been properly stored, in the original wartime brown paper bundle.
It is in fairly good general condition, but has noticeably discoloured where it has been touching the brown paper wrapping (on part of the front, as you can see from the photographs).
There are also a few dark storage spots.
I do not know whether these marks will fade in the wash - I suspect not, as they are over half a century old.
In view of its age, if you are thinking of wearing the vest, it should be hand-washed before use, and treated gently.
